please be kind July
[ Isaiah Alexander ]
i want sand clinging to my toes,
sun rays painting me in gold.
i need july to taste like honey and heat, with skies that shimmer and
never retreat.
i need a summer that never ends,
days stretched out with sun-soaked friends.
i pray no winter wind cuts through this scene. let the cold stay buried,
silent and unseen.
give me:
warmth that lingers, laughter that glows, and time that moves as slow as
the coast.
Isaiah Alexander is a twenty-five year old black, gay poet weaving memory, myth, and madness into verse. Raised in Texas, he writes from the in-between—where grief softens, love haunts, and poetry heals.
